Radio Presenter prepares and presents news, sports or other information, conducts interviews, and introduces music, performances and special events on radio. This occupation requires high levels of creative talent or personal commitment and interest as well as, or in place of, formal qualifications and experience.

Radio Presenter may perform the following tasks:

• managing artistic and media productions to meet quality, cost and timing specifications
• formulating and developing organisations' artistic policies and selecting and planning organisations' artistic programs
• hiring and managing artistic staff
• controlling the use of media production facilities such as studios and editing equipment, stage and film equipment and rehearsal time
• directing the formulation of media production strategies, policies and plans
• introducing programs, music, entertainment items, guests and celebrities
• preparing and reading news bulletins, making special announcements and providing commentary for sports and other events
• presenting opinions on sports, politics, and social and economic matters
• researching, investigating and compiling stories and programs

Radio Presenter is classified as Group B occupations by Vetassess. The criteria for skills assessment of Group B occupations are the following :

• Qualification(s) assessed at AQF Bachelor degree or higher degree with a highly relevant field of study and at least one year of post-qualification highly relevant employment in the last five years; Or
• Qualification(s) assessed at AQF Bachelor degree or higher degree with an additional qualification at least Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Diploma level in a highly relevant field of study and at least two years of post qualification highly relevant employment in the last five years; Or
• Qualification(s) assessed at AQF Bachelor degree or higher degree without a highly relevant field of study and at least three years of post-qualification highly relevant employment in the last five years;

According to Vetassess, if you have pre-qualification employment and if all of your employment is before your qualification assessed at the AQF bachelor degree level , you are required to have five years of highly relevant employment in addition to at least one year of highly relevant employment at an appropriate skill level completed in the last five years.
