Australian Computer Society Skills Migration Assessment
Australian Computer Society (ACS) is the designated assessing authority for ICT skills occupations and provides skills assessment services for migration purposes to those ICT professionals who wish to apply for either a permanent or temporary Australian visa.
The ACS ICT skills assessment will assess if your educational qualifications and work experience are at a professional ICT level and closely related to your nominated occupation for migration purposes.
If you hold an Australian Bachelor degree or higher and you are in Australia and applying for Temporary Graduate visa subclass 485 , no IT related work experience is required, however, for other cases, work experience is a major component for the assessment of an IT nominated occupation.
If you hold an Australian Bachelor degree or higher and are planning to apply for a permanent visa through General Skill Migration Program, you are required to have one year post qualification work experience. You will be exempted from this criterion if you have successfully completed a professional year in Australia.
For all other overseas qualifications, the applicants are required to satisfy the minimum years of relevant ICT work experience related to the level of their qualification. Relevant ICT Work Experience must be professional ICT employment and at least 20 hours per week.
For those applicants who do not have any relevant ICT qualifications such as holders of non-ICT diploma, ACS will accept 6 years relevant ICT work experience in addition to submitting a successful Recognition of Prior Learning ( RPL ) application.
